London @ England

Everyone knows that travelling in London is expensive. Hence, here's a guide on travelling in a budgeted way and yet enjoy your holiday. First of all, the hotel. I stayed in 1 Lexham Gardens Hotel (near Earl's court) which is in zon 1.  It's about GBP50 per person per night. It's a clean and comfortable hotel with breakfast; corn flakes, fruits, croissant etc. I would call it a boutique hotel. It's 10 minutes walk away from the station and 2 minutes walk from Sainsbury which makes it very convenient.

Next thing is the underground rides. Get yourself a "Day anytime" (Zon 1) travel card which is going to cost you about GBP8 per day. Forget about the Oyster Card, it's not as cheap because we will be travelling during peak and non-peak hours. If you don't mind walking, the British Museums are 20 minutes walk from the hotel. If you were to take the tube, then go to "South Kensington" station. All the museums are there eg. Natural History Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum and Science Museum. It's all free of charge and worth a visit.

If you go during winter, there'll be an outdoor skating rink and flee market just beside this museum. You can also go to The British Museum at Great Russel Street. The building is like a roman gallery but not as impressive as the others. I didn't go to Madame Tussaud's because I've been to the one in Hong Kong, so I give it a miss.

Next station will be "Westminster" where the House of Parliament, West Minster Abby and London Eye are. House of Parliament is just for view, West Minster Abby is free and London eye is GBP18.60 per person. London Eye is quite a walk away from the station.

Big Ben

Next stop, Leichester Square. This is where the Chinatown and Nelson's Column is. With no doubt, Chinatown has the most restaurants and the price ranges from GBP7.99 for buffet dinner to GBP30 for a 4 course meal. Do not expect too much from the buffet because food served are like sweet and sour chicken, black pepper beef etc. Dumpling noodle will likely be about GBP6 per bowl.

What's a holiday without shopping? There are two stations you can stop at which is the "Bond Street" station or the "Green Park" station. If you wanna see luxury goods, then you should start with "Green Park" because the "Old Bond Street" is where all the luxury goods are.

Old Bond Street

Harrods is the next must go. Very interesting layout but very confusing. There are all kinds of luxury brand in it, you name it, they have it. Alight at Knightbridge station.

How can we not go to Tower Bridge when you're in London? You can either stop at "London Bridge" station or "Tower Hill" station. The distance is about the same. Besides Tower Bridge, you will also see the Tower of London there as well. St Paul's Cathedral is just 20 minutes walk from "Tower Hill" station. You should be able to see it from the Tower Bridge because no building in London can be taller than it (in legal terms). The entrance fee is GBP14.50 and it's an eye opener.

So there you go, places to visit in London. There are many other places besides all these but these are the places that interest me. For souvenirs, stop at Leichester Square near China Town.
P/S- If you wanna eat cheap, go for Subway (GBP3) or Fish & Chips (GBP3)
I've attached the tube and tourist attraction map for your reference.
