Celestial Court @ Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur

Inspired by the majesty of the classic Chinese heritage, Celestial Court is a restaurant adorned with artifacts and exclusive works of modern art that echo elegant traditions and royal dynasties, an ideal setting for celebratory banquets, corporate functions, fine appreciation of masterful cuisine or simply casual dining.

Executive Chef Ho Boon is a lifelong scholar of the extensive Chinese culinary arts, and has selected the most popular and enticing dishes from this beloved fare for his innovative menu. By combining new ideas and classic interpretations, he offers creative courses for all to savor without forgetting the food's honored traditions.

Celestial Court

Fried Banana & Prawn Roll with Wasabi Mayo

Fried Oyster, Siu Mai, Fried Chicken Char Siu Ball

Chicken Pau, Har Kau, Charcoal Custard Bun, Lotus Leaf Rice

Braised Duck Noodle, Fish Chee Cheong Fun, Chicken Porridge

Mango Pamelo, Avocado & Ice-cream, Durian Pudding, Last one I forgot =P

The price range for dim sum is MYR13 to MYR18. Portions above for certain dim sum is more than one because they put all of the same dim sum in one plate. I will only comment on the dim sum worth mentioning, the others are just normal. Fried Banana & Prawn Roll with Wasabi Mayo is a must try. Crispy on the outside and soft and crunchy inside. Soft is from the banana and crunchy is from the fresh prawn. A good combination of flavour when you dip it into the wasabi mayo.

The Siu Mai is quite special, can you see the mini abalone in top of it? That adds a chewy feel to the siu mai and makes it quite interesting. Charcoal Custard Bun is good, the salted custard with salted egg yolk as the filling makes this bun memorable. Eat it when it's still hot!!

Lotus Leaf Rice is another well executed dish. The soft glutinous rice steamed with salted egg yolk, chicken and pacific clam in the lotus leaf blends all those flavours together, GREAT!

If you like home cooking, the Braised Duck Noodle will be your choice. It tasted like granny's cooking. All the herbs and spices taste reminds me of my granny. Worth a try.

I have high expectation on dessert and those four above barely make it except for the avocado cream with ice-cream. I do not like durian, therefore the durian is not my choice. But if you are a durian lover, go for it. You might love it like how my friends do. The service here is very slow, I think they have sufficient staff but they are not fully utilised. We waited 25 minutes for our bill.

Ambiance = 8/10
Service     = 6/10
Food         = 7/10
