Benares @ Parkroyal Hotel

Benares is an Indian fine dining which is located in Parkroyal Hotel. Prepared by chefs imported from India, customers reward mouths after a long day at work, while aromas give noses a treat after braving the stench of colleagues. Homemade sauces give dishes authentic identities, while spices from India add to the dining experience and fiery dances on tongues. Wolfing down dinner in air-conditioned climates, smoking sections allow tobacco enthusiasts to indulge without disapproving stares from other patrons or smoked meats.

Hara Bara Kebab - combination of garden vegetable, cottage cheese, spinach and mint. This is a very pleasant starter I would say. Not too oily just nice.

Tomato Shorba - A vegetarian specialty prepared with garden fresh tomatoes finished with trace of roasted cumin seeds, but this soup is not my kinda tomato soup I would prefer.

Samushri Shorba - Seafood soup with bay leaves and a dash of lime. This tasted like dahl with seafood in it.

Tandoori Lobster - This is really good. Juicy and tender and it's so flavourful.

Aloo Gosht - Dry lamb with spiced potatoes and herbs. This goes really well with the naan and biryani.

Jhinga Curry Leaves - King prawn curry cooked with fresh curry leaves and aromatic spices. This is almost as good as the lobster.

Murgh Ki Dum Biryani - Basmati rice cooked on a Dum with chicken and spices. This is a little too heavy for me, a plain biryani will be good enough for the dishes above.

Gajar Ka Halva - Grated carrot cooked with milk, nuts, raisins, cinnamon and cardomom. Not my type of dessert.

Mango Kulfi - Homemade Indian ice-cream flavoured with mango

Pista Kulfi - Homemade Indian ice-cream flavoured with saffron and pistachios

Overall, this is a really good experience dining in Benares. Staff there are very friendly and helpful. I will return to try out more dishes in the future.
